For above and beyond the RIBA Carbon 2030 Challenge. Advanced Housing Systems has teamed up with forester Will Benzies, owner/manager of a local wood of mature Douglas Fir.
Apart from taking in the verdant vibe of the beautiful wood, our clients can wander through and choose their own trees. We will then fell them and process for a green post and beam frame, infilled with our panels and fully integrated with any of our systems, including THEPASSIVHAUS PHI certified ones.
The embodied carbon teamed with the operational carbon figures from a passivhaus new home built in this way would be extraordinary. The first client is ourselves - we're building a new facility using this process.

After 8 years of iterations, we recently launched THEPASSIVHAUS, a Passivhaus certified Total Envelope System and described by the Passivhaus Institute at Darmstadt system as ‘the most comprehensive system’ they've ever assessed.
As for sustainability, Lyonesse House, which uses THEPASSIVHAUS details, scored A+ for the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge. It has now been updated to A++, probably becoming the most sustainable certified passivhaus system.
