Our services are broad and detailed - we will help with any aspect of your build, from finding the best architect that suits you for a self-build, to our TotalBuild amd ManagedBuild services that insulate you from the difficult and time-consuming aspects of building so you can concentrate on the design elements that make it your own. Our products marry advanced technologies in areas such as thermal and acoustic insulation while using traditional wood based materials which are high performance and carbon zero or better.

We are perhaps best known for developing an excellent cost/performance type of timber frame technology called AvalonTM Closed Structural Insulated Panel System, link to SIPS diagramsa closed panel SIPS, used in such houses as the Stirling Home on Grand Designs.

'Closing' the panels mean we finish both sides of the wall in the factory with the service conduits and electrical back boxes preinstalled. This takes complexity, labour and time away from the uncontrolled building site environment which saves money and mistakes.

It also allows us to put up a 1000 sq ft a week using 2 people - saving even more money. So, an average house is up in 2 weeks to a better quality than can usually be achieved on-site.

Our philosophy is to try to keep the best parts of a 1000 year old technology and improve it with new technology where it the cost/performance equation merits it.

Consequently, as well as developing the AvalonTM Structural Insulated Panel System (SIPS), we work with a range of traditional and advanced building methodologies, often combining the two.

Avalon™ SIPS packages  have been specifically designed with the client who wishes to manage the project themselves in mind. Being a closed panel there is considerably less work that needs to be organized and carried out on site. We also offer our clients a very inclusive timber frame package. We are able to supply all the materials that will be needed to complete your home, delivered to the site as and when they are required. Again this means that there is less for the client to organize.

We are always there to offer advice and to answer any questions, so the client never feels that they have been left to sort things out for themselves. The relationships we develop with our clients mean that we are there to help until the home has been finished. This is not the case with every supplier in the construction industry.



Our TotalBuild package is an all in price of £185 per square foot for a very high specification house - compare this with Huf - where we help you brief one of our architects of your choice and we give you the keys around 6 months after planning consent is granted. A stated amount is allowed for each item, for example, kitchens, bathrooms, floors, tiles, etc., and you can spend more or less than this on any item with the appropriate adjustments. TotalBuild puts the entire build responsibility on our shoulders.



Our ManagedBuild package puts you in charge of the cheque book, rather than us. It's a kind of halfway house between true self build and the traditional architect managed build. We will manage any and all parts of the build, depending on your wishes. If we manage everything, including project and site management, we charge flat fee of 15% of the build cost - which we would aim to more than save you in terms of time, hassle, and costs. Alternatively, an hourly rate can be arranged.
